Looking back at the seminar Tactile Storytelling, a collaboration between the Department of Textile and the Institute of Language Arts, we revisit a collection of tactile books designed for children and young people with visual impairments at the Vienna Federal Institute for the Blind.
Working in small groups, students developed tactile books for a specific young person. Through materials, textures, sounds and language, they explored how stories can be told, felt and shared beyond the visual.
